Dividend Growers: Why Dividends Matter in a Shaky Earnings Environment- ProShares – 9.13.16

Summary:

Now On Demand.

Faced with anemic global economic growth, even some generally reliable U.S. companies may be on shaky ground, and investors are growing leery about earnings and dividends growth. Indeed, S&P 500® earnings declined for the fourth consecutive period in Q1 2016, and Q2 earnings delivered another negative growth rate.

But an elite group of companies—those that consistently grow their dividends—may offer solid footing. Join experts from S&P and ProShares as they discuss:
  • Why focusing on quality companies is important when growth and earning are slow.
  • The importance of dividends to long-term returns, and how consistent dividend growth can help you identify high-quality companies with a strong risk/return profile.
  • How focusing on companies that have raised their dividends has provided outperformance and lower volatility under a variety of market conditions.1
