Robert Nestor, President, Direxion met with Julie Cooling, Founder & CEO, RIA Channel to discuss the firm’s newly launched relative weight strategies and plans for expansion.
Nestor, recently joining the firm as President, brings over 25 years of industry experience to the table. “We hope to expand beyond just the tactical trader community,” says Nestor. Direxion, well known as a leverage and inverse shop, has launched several new strategies aimed towards strategic allocators and macro-thematic investments.
“Our core competency is providing precise exposures and accessing the short side,” Nestor explains. Many investors today are long-only constrained and can only access one side of their view. Direxion’s line of relative weight ETFs allows investors to express their views more precisely in a single ETF. For example, Direxion’s Growth Over Value ETF (RWGV), takes 150% long-only exposure to the Russell 1000 Growth and shorts the reciprocal, the Russell 1000 value. Additionally, Direxion has added several 3x sectors funds to their traditional leverage and inverse platform.
