Summary:

Now On Demand

Decentralized finance (or DeFi) emerged as an exciting new sector of crypto in 2017, with promises to disrupt traditional finance with new “programmable money.”

The market soared in the “DeFi Summer” of 2020, with the launch of major new applications like Uniswap and Aave.

In this special, one-hour webinar, Bitwise’s CIO, Matt Hougan, Director of Research, David Lawant, and lead DeFi researcher Ryan Rasmussen will look ahead to the “Third Wave” of DeFi, and examine the outlook for one of the most important verticals in crypto.

Among the topics they’ll cover:

  • The first two adoption waves of DeFi that introduced one of the leading verticals to crypto, and how the current challenges are laying the groundwork for the third wave of DeFi adoption
  • The innovative scaling solutions that are solving the biggest issues holding DeFi back
  • The rise of “permissioned DeFi”: What it is, why it exists, and when it will take off (sooner than you think)
  • DeFi’s emerging role as the financial backbone of NFTs, gaming, DAOs, the metaverse, and other crypto verticals
