Darek Wojnar, EVP, Head of Funds and Managed Accounts, Northern Trust Asset Management and FlexShares Exchange Traded Funds joined Keith Black, Managing Director of RIA Channel to discuss asset allocation solutions for today’s uncertain market environment.
As inflation and interest rates rose in 2022, many advisors looked to reposition client portfolios to meet the changing market conditions and help keep long-term client goals on track. FlexShares, a Northern Trust company, offers a robust tool kit of ETFs designed to meet a range of long-term and short-term investment objectives such as capital appreciation, income and risk management. For example, clients who want to remain invested but are concerned with market uncertainty may be interested in a low volatility equity fund, such as QLV. Investors who are looking to reduce volatility and increase income may consider replacing a portion of their equity allocation with high-yield bond exposure, explains Wojnar. Short duration products and money market funds, real assets-based funds, as well as high quality equity dividend funds have also seen increased ETF flows, says Wojnar.
