Speakers:

Steve has over 35 years of experience in the real estate finance, investment and development industry. Steve holds a BA and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, where he also played varsity hockey. Steve was formerly the President and Managing Director of BMO Capital Markets Real Estate Group. Prior to that, he was President of Brascan (Brookfield) Financial Real Estate and Vice-Chairman of Royal LePage Real Estate. From 1999–2001, he served as President of Talisker Corporation, a private investment and development company operating in the U.S., UK and Canada. From 1991– 1999, he was Managing Director of RBC Capital Markets Real Estate.

Alex is the Managing Director for Corporate Development in the U.S.A. Prior to joining Sterling, he worked in Investment Banking for several family offices and boutique investment banks in Florida and New York. Additionally, as a serial entrepreneur, he was responsible for the growth of a consumer product company in the food and beverage space. Alex’s primary focus over his career has been in helping create new business platforms and capital raising from high-net-worth individuals, multifamily offices and RIA’s. The primary sectors he worked in include real estate, travel and transportation and sports and entertainment. Prior to that career, Alex served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy onboard several ships in the Pacific Fleet. Alex has a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy; a M.B.A from the University of San Diego and a J.D. from Temple University.
