CAIS Advisors’ Blundell On Tools To Build Alternative Investment Allocations

Neil Blundell, Chief Investment Officer for CAIS Advisors, joined Keith Black, Managing Director of RIA Channel, at the CAIS Summit to discuss the launch of CAIS Advisors and the alternative investment services provided to advisors.

Blundell states that we are in a transformational phase of the alternative investment cycle, with a renaissance of products available to accredited investors. CAIS has been a big part of a technological revolution streamlining the adoption, subscription, and due diligence of alternative investments.

Conversations with financial advisors have changed from why to invest in alts to how to invest in alts. CAIS has provided educational and access tools for alternative investments. CAIS Advisors provides tools for implementation, including navigating market cycles, creating portfolios, customizable models, and a potential suite of registered funds.  Advisors can work with CAIS Advisors to build the optimal allocation of public vs private markets given each client’s unique circumstances.

Blundell notes that individual investors average a 5% allocation to alternatives, but that is likely to increase with the registered funds now available to accredited investors. BDCs offer efficient access to private credit, while private equity can be accessed through tender offer funds.
