Compound Planning’s Flynn On Engaging With Next-Generation Clients

Eric Flynn, CFA, EVP, and Head of Wealth Management at Compound Planning, joined Keith Black, Managing Director of RIA Channel, to discuss the tech tools appreciated by younger investors and how the CFA charter program can be a differentiator for financial advisors and their firms.

Compound Planning was a technology firm before it became a registered investment advisor. The firm is building an operating system for advisors to be able to help their clients in the best way. Many RIA firms struggle to build their tech stack and piece together various systems, which might require advisors to access information from four or more platforms.

The next generation of investors, who are set to inherit trillions of dollars from their parents and grandparents in the coming years, is more likely to choose an advisor who offers a tech-enabled platform.  Compound Planning has a younger client base, and the firm is engaging with them outside of regular quarterly meetings.

The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program provides a deep analytical experience in a program that recently added pathways in alternative investments and private wealth management to its traditional portfolio management path.
