Direxion’s Jablonski Talks ESG ETF: ESNG

Direxion's Jablonski Talks Leveraged ESG ETF: ESNGSylvia Jablonski, Managing Director of Capital Markets, Direxion met with Julie Cooling, Founder & CEO, RIA Channel to discuss the firm’s ESG ETF, ESNG.

Direxion, well known by the active trading community for its leveraged and inverse ETFs, has recently launched a series of thematic strategies catering to the long-term investor. While Direxion’s daily bull and bear ETFs deliver short-term magnified exposure to precise portions of the market, the firm’s recently expanded thematic weight ETFs gives traditionally long-only constrained investors the opportunity to express their investment views more precisely in a single ETF, while still managing exposure to risk.

In February 2020, Direxion launched ESG ETF (ESNG), as well as defensive ETF (FLYT), and smart quality ETF (QMJ).

The Direxion MSCI USA – Leaders vs. Laggards ETF, ESNG, takes a unique approach to ESG investing. The fund allows investors to reward high performing ESG leaders and bet against ESG laggards. ESNG takes 150% long-only exposure to the top ranked companies based on their MSCI ESG score and shorts the bottom ranked companies with the lowest ESG scores. Both long and short components of the index are reviewed quarterly.

Environmental, Sustainable, Governance (ESG) or Impact investing has become increasingly popular over the last few years. In 2019 alone, ESG funds saw nearly $21 billion in new money, shattering 2018’s record inflows. ESNG’s strong emphasis on ESG factors allows investors to double down on the trend by delivering precise exposure to ESG winners.
