As Director of Tax and Financial Planning for the Schwab Center for Financial Research, Hayden provides analysis and insights on topics including income tax planning, tax-smart investing, asset allocation and retirement withdrawal strategies for a range of Schwab clients and advisors. Hayden publishes commentary and insights regularly on Insights & Ideas and in Schwab’s On Investing magazine. He regularly educates the public on tax-related topics through appearances at public conferences, in podcasts and webcasts, and he has been quoted on financial and philanthropic websites. Hayden previously led Schwab’s tax compliance function, providing expertise on tax reporting for Schwab clients. He also served as Schwab’s lead representative on tax regulatory matters. Prior to joining Schwab in 2015, Hayden worked for eight years at the IRS as a senior auditor for complex flow-through entities (such as partnerships, S corporations and LLCs) and high-net-worth individuals. His past work also includes financial reporting for an international insurance company and audit services in public accounting. |

Fred is Managing Director, of Marketing, Business Development and Charitable Consulting at Schwab Charitable, and is responsible for engaging and building relationships with donors, financial advisors and charities in order to help increase the impact and efficiency of giving in the United States. He has also led an innovative marketing, communications, and partnerships strategy that has established Schwab Charitable as a leader in the non-profit sector. Since Mr. Kaynor joined Schwab Charitable, annual grants have grown from less than $1 billion to more than $3 billion in Fiscal Year 2020. Fred brings over 20 years of financial services experience after holding senior-level positions at MasterCard Worldwide and Visa. Fred is actively involved in volunteer work, including past board service with Children’s Council of San Francisco and the United Way of the Bay Area’s Marketing Advisory Council, as well as various leadership roles with his local parish. He is a graduate of Boston College and a former Coro Foundation Public Affairs Leadership fellow. |
