Jeff Seeley, Deputy CEO of iM Global Partner and CEO of Litman Gregory, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel, to discuss multi-manager boutiques and combining investment management firms.
iM Global Partner has minority investments in ten asset management boutiques around the world. This includes eight firms in the US and two in the UK and Europe.
Litman Gregory has eight financial advisors who oversee $3 billion in client assets. The firm provides investment management and financial planning services. Litman Gregory is not an aggregator but can provide a solution for investment advisors who are looking to retire but want their clients to continue to be served.
iM Global Partner is different than other multi-manager boutiques, such as AMG. iM Global will invest in a maximum of 10 to 15 investment boutiques. The firm can grow by helping their partners distribute funds, especially US funds distributing UCITS products into Europe, supported by teams in Germany, Switzerland, and the Nordics. iM Global can also assist their partner firms in any acquisitions they may wish to make. In 2023, iM Global helped with the transition of a municipal bond team from Credit Suisse to Asset Preservation Advisors.
