Jim McDonald Jim McDonald Chief Investment Strategist Northern Trust Asset Management

Jim McDonald is an executive vice president and the chief investment strategist for Northern Trust. He is responsible for overseeing the strategic and tactical asset allocation policy for our institutional and wealth management clients globally. He chairs the Northern Trust Tactical Asset Allocation Committee and is a co-portfolio manager of the Northern Global Tactical Asset Allocation Fund. In addition, he is a member of the Investment Policy Committee and trustee of the 50 South Capital Alpha Strategies hedge fund.

Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2001 as the director of equity research, Jim was director of equity research at ABN AMRO in New York and Chicago (1994-2000) and an equity research analyst at ABN AMRO following the environmental services industry (1990-1994). He started his professional career in 1981 with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Detroit.

Jim received a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MBA degree with high distinction from Babson College. He is a member of the CFA® Society of Chicago and a registered CPA in the state of Michigan.

Nadia Papagiannis, CFA Nadia Papagiannis, CFA Practice Lead, Multi-Asset Class Solutions Northern Trust Asset Management

Nadia Papagiannis, CFA is responsible for developing and managing discretionary, multi-asset class products including model portfolios for NTAM. She joined Northern Trust in 2018, having spent more than 4 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management as Director of Alternative Investment Strategy and 8 years at Morningstar, where she was the Director of Alternative Fund Research. Nadia received an MBA from the University of Chicago in 2009.

Prior to joining Morningstar in 2005, she was a senior compliance examiner at NASD (now FINRA), auditing broker-dealers. She also worked at the National Futures Association (NFA), auditing firms trading futures and options, including hedge funds.

Papagiannis holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and French from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Papagiannis also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. In 2011, Institutional Investor selected her as one of the publication’s Rising Stars of Mutual Funds. In 2017, The Hedge Fund Journal selected her as one of the 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds.
