Dave Breazzano Dave Breazzano Head of Team, Portfolio Manager Polen Capital

David is Head of Team for Credit at Polen Capital, where he serves as co-Portfolio Manager of the U.S. Opportunistic High Yield and U.S. High Yield strategies. In 1996, David co-founded DDJ Capital, where he built the boutique firm into a premier credit manager focused on high yield and special situation investing. In 2022, Polen Capital acquired DDJ Capital, which launched the firm’s Credit capabilities. Previously, David was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Investments in the High Income group, where he directed the investment management of high yield and distressed assets. Prior to that, David spent five years at T. Rowe Price as a high yield analyst and portfolio manager. David earned his B.A. in political science and economics from Union College and an M.B.A. from Cornell University. David serves on the Boards of Trustees of Union College and Cornell University.


Ben Santonelli Ben Santonelli Portfolio Manager Polen Capital

Ben is lead Portfolio Manager of Polen Capital’s Credit Opportunities strategy, co-Portfolio Manager of the U.S. Opportunistic High Yield, and assistant Portfolio Manager of the Bank Loan strategy. Ben’s career began at DDJ Capital in 2004, which was subsequently acquired by Polen Capital in 2022. Ben received a B.A. in History from Amherst College and serves as a member of the board of directors of a Polen Capital portfolio company.


John Sherman John Sherman Portfolio Manager Polen Capital

John is lead Portfolio Manager of Polen Capital’s Bank Loan strategy, co-Portfolio Manager of the U.S. Opportunistic High Yield strategy, and assistant Portfolio Manager of the Credit Opportunities strategy. John originally joined DDJ Capital in 2007, which was subsequently acquired by Polen Capital in 2022. Prior to 2007, John was an Associate in the Healthcare Group at Thoma Cressey Equity Partners, focusing on private equity investments in middle-market companies. Prior to that, John spent two years in the Investment Banking Division of Citigroup as an Analyst for the Global Healthcare Group. John serves on the Board of Directors of a Polen Capital portfolio company. John received a B.B.A. in Finance (magna cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame.
