LPL Financial’s Edling-Day On Helping Advisors Choose A Tech Stack

Kristie Edling-Day, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at LPL Financial, joined Julie Cooling, Founder and CEO of RIA Channel, to discuss the proliferation of technology tools available to advisors.

The LPL Focus conference attracted 9,000 members of the LPL community, including 5,500 advisors.  LPL Financial’s new digital brand identity was introduced at the conference. Edling-Day looks forward to meeting with advisors at conferences to get their candid feedback on LPL’s technology platform.

Technology tools have been proliferating in the advisor space, and the addition of artificial intelligence (AI) has added even more tools. Given this proliferation, advisors have been asking LPL for their input on which tools they should use and how to integrate them into their practice. LPL now offers a new business solution where they consult with advisors on their tech stack.

Advisors are both nervous and excited about AI.  Advisors want to run their businesses efficiently so they can grow, and they are focusing on AI for the potential to automate their most mundane tasks.  By streamlining back-office activities, advisors can spend more time with clients and prospects.

LPL is focused on helping advisors improve their clients’ digital experience. Younger generations expect advisors to use technology to create customized experiences. LPL’s goal is to build a great technology platform that meets most advisor needs and find third-party solutions to complete other tasks.
