Peter Ciganik is a Managing Director of Strategy, Research and Investor Relations at GTIS and leads the Investor Relations and Client Services functions. In addition, Mr. Ciganik is responsible for the Firm’s macro and investment research, global strategy and new business development.

Mr. Ciganik’s experience in the real estate industry began in 2002. Prior to joining GTIS in 2007, Mr. Ciganik worked with Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds (MSREF) in London, and with Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners (LBREP) in New York.

In his prior engagements, Mr. Ciganik was responsible for the evaluation, financial modeling and due diligence of equity and mezzanine debt investments, participating in the acquisition of over $800 million of individual and portfolio assets. Before LBREP, Mr. Ciganik worked with Lehman’s Corporate Strategy and Acquisitions group, and as a business analyst with McKinsey & Co. in Frankfurt and New York.

Mr. Ciganik graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College and received an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mr. Ciganik is a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) and Pension Real Estate Association (PREA).

Jay Frank is the President of Cantor Fitzgerald Capital and Chief Operating Officer of Cantor Fitzgerald Investment Management. Cantor Fitzgerald is a global financial services and real estate investment management firm. Jay is involved in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, providing direction and implementing strategic initiatives. In addition, Jay leads distribution efforts, sits on the investment committee and plays an active role in product construction, marketing, and the overall direction of the business. Jay has spent the last 15 years focused exclusively on the commercial real estate and alternative investment industries.

Throughout his career, Jay has been involved in the creation, structuring, launch, capital formation, management and monetization of dozens of real estate strategies with over $30 billion in aggregate value. He has worked closely with wealth management, accounting, tax and legal firms on the education, due diligence and implementation of sophisticated real estate and cash management solutions including Real Estate Investment Trusts, Business Development Companies, 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges and Qualified Opportunity Funds.

Mr. Frank earned a B.A. in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses and is an Investment Banking Representative.

Matthew Iak

Matthew Iak is the Executive Vice President of U.S. Energy Development Corporation and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He has overseen the capital raise of more than $1.5 Billion in capital since he joined the company in 2005.

Mr. Iak has extensive experience in the areas of private placement, Regulation D, as well as estate and tax planning. He has led the construction and underwriting of multiple new investment structures in the oil and gas space which include, energy 1031 exchange funds, private capital acquisition funds, and most recently qualified opportunity zone funds.

In addition to being on the Board of Directors at U.S. Energy, Mr. Iak is a member of the company’s second generation leadership team and serves as the President for a series of family real estate and real estate management companies. He is also the CEO and President of U.S. Energy’s Managing Broker Dealer, Westmoreland Capital Corporation.

Prior to joining U.S. Energy, Mr. Iak worked as a financial advisor and oversaw client assets in excess of $1 Billion.

A highly sought after public speaker, Mr. Iak is frequently invited to present within the financial community on oil & gas economics, taxation, and financial planning. Mr. Iak is a graduate of Canisius College and holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 66 licenses.

Chris Loeffler is the CEO and Co-Founder of Caliber and serves as Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors. As CEO, Chris directs and executes global strategy, oversees investments and fund management, and contributes to private and public capital formation. As a Co-Founder Chris took an early role forming the Company’s financial and operational infrastructure and navigating the vertical integration of all real estate and investment services.

Prior to forming Caliber, Chris served as a Senior Associate in the audit and assurance practice for PwC in Phoenix, Arizona, completing public company audits, developing control systems, and completing several acquisition or sale transactions. Some of Chris clients included Honeywell International, Inc., CSK Auto Inc., Verizon Communications, Inc., Republic Services, Inc., Car Wash Partners, Inc., and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Chris is also a Board Director for Qwick, Inc., a venture-funded hospitality staffing marketplace.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Chris also attended Universidad Complutense de Madrid (University of Madrid) in Madrid, Spain.

Nick Parrish

Nick Parrish is a Managing Director for Cresset Partners. Nick focuses on building and developing partnerships with family offices and institutions around direct private equity and real estate transactions. He also has responsibility for setting the overall distribution strategy for investment products and strategies executed or managed by Cresset Partners. Most recently he has helped to lead the firm’s efforts to build a $500 million Qualified Opportunity Zone Fund in partnership with Diversified Real Estate capital.

Nick joined Cresset after spending 14 years with GCM Grosvenor, a global leader in alternative investments. During his time at GCM Grosvenor, Nick was responsible for managing the firms relationships with a variety of investors, including family offices, endowments, family foundations, and pension funds. These relationships covered a wide variety of assets classes, including hedge fund, private equity, real estate, credit and infrastructure. At GCM Grosvenor, Nick helped develop a variety of new market segments for the firm, including regional distribution in both Latin America and Canada. He also previously held a variety of internal roles focused on strategy, product development, client service operations and marketing. Prior to GCM Grosvenor, Nick spent time with both Northwestern Mutual and U.S. Bancorp Fund Services.

Nick graduated from Marquette University with a Double Major in Business Economics and Finance. Nick hold both the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago and CAIA Society of Chicago.

Tom Shapiro is the President and Founder of GTIS. In addition, Mr. Shapiro is the Chief Investment Officer responsible for overseeing all investment activity and strategy of the firm. Mr. Shapiro is also Chairman of the General Partner’s Investment Committee and is a member of the Board of Directors of Brazil Hospitality Group, one of the largest owners and managers of hotels in Brazil.

Mr. Shapiro’s experience in the real estate industry began in 1988. Prior to starting GTIS, Mr. Shapiro was a Senior Managing Director at Tishman Speyer and a member of the firm’s Investment and Management Committees. Most recently, Mr. Shapiro was responsible for Tishman Speyer’s global equity capital markets and dispositions groups. Previously, Mr. Shapiro ran GTS Properties, an acquisitions joint venture between Tishman Speyer and Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Shapiro serves on the Board of Trustees of Horace Mann School. He also serves on the Undergraduate Executive Board for The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania from which Mr. Shapiro received a B.S. and graduated magna cum laude.

Longtime investor and entrepreneur, Avy Stein is Cresset’s cofounder and co-chairman. With his Cresset co-founder, Avy has been involved with starting, investing in and growing over 150 businesses and raising funds totaling over $8 billion.

Before launching Cresset in 2017, Avy served as Chief Executive Officer of Willis Stein & Partners, a private equity firm he cofounded in 1994, where he was responsible for managing the firm’s investments in the education, recycling, telecommunications, energy and consumer sectors. During that time, Avy also co-founded Lincoln Clean Energy, an operator of utility-scale clean energy projects later acquired by I Squared Capital in 2016. From 1989 to 1994, Avy served as Managing Director for Continental Illinois Venture Corp (CIVC).
