Julie Cooling graduated from Bucknell University in 1994 with Economics & Finance majors and joined SEI Investments in their Bank/Trust Technology division. She moved to San Francisco to work for Montgomery Asset Management and then Forward Funds. She held positions in product development, marketing, management and sales. She started RIA Database (RIADatabase.com) in 2005, launched the Bank/Trust Database in 2007, Registered Rep Database in 2008 and the Family Office Database in 2009. She launched RIA Channel (RIAChannel.com) in 2010 which hosts webcasts, video interviews, financial news, research and advisor rankings.
