Murray states that it has been difficult for managers of international and value stocks to gather assets due to the strong performance of US growth stocks. While international stocks are out of favor, Wisdom Tree is seeing growing client demand for long-short and options-based strategies.
Asset management is a highly competitive business where the winners may be differentiated by their service and not just their investment performance. Wisdom Tree provides services to advisors including portfolio analysis and attribution, model portfolios, portfolio consultations, and shared CIO services. WisdomTree has built specific models for RIAs, institutions, and wirehouses. The firm was one of the first to implement an open architecture model that recommended ETFs from other asset management firms.
