Matt Hougan is one of the world’s leading experts on crypto, ETFs, and financial technology. He is the Chief Investment Officer for Bitwise Asset Management, the world’s largest provider of cryptocurrency index funds. He was previously CEO of ETF.com and Inside ETFs, where he helped build the world’s first ETF data and analytics system, the leading ETF media site, and the world’s largest ETF conference. Matt is co-author of two publications for the CFA Institute Research Foundation: “A Comprehensive Guide to Exchange-Traded Funds” and “Cryptoassets: The Guide to Bitcoin, Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies for Professional Investors.”

Katherine Dowling serves as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Bitwise Asset Management. She previously served in General Counsel, CCO, and COO roles at several financial firms, and was a co-founder, Managing Director and COO of Luminate Capital Partners, a software private equity firm. A Harvard Law graduate, Katherine spent 10+ years as a federal prosecutor, most recently in the Economic Crimes Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, where she worked with the FBI, SEC, IRS and other agencies to prosecute insider trading, fraud, Ponzi schemes and money laundering cases, among others.

Ryan Rasmussen is the Head of Research at Bitwise Asset Management. Prior to Bitwise, he held a variety of corporate finance roles at Cetera Financial Group, a network of independent broker-dealers with over 8,000 financial advisors and $300 billion in assets under administration. Before Cetera, Ryan was a business analyst at Oakley and spent time as a research associate at UK Trade & Investment in Sydney, Australia. He is a graduate of the Argyros School of Business & Economics at Chapman University, with a B.S. in finance and a secondary focus in graphic and web design.

Juan Leon is the Senior Investment Strategist at Bitwise Asset Management where he leads investment strategy, research, product development, fund management, and supports sales and client relationships. Prior to Bitwise, he was a Portfolio Manager at U.S. Global Investors where he managed equity and fixed-income funds and designed quantitative investment strategies. Before that, Juan was a Financial Analyst at Rackspace Technology. He is a graduate of Trinity University, where he double majored in Political Science and Economics. Juan also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute.

Carlie Donovan is Head of Intermediary at Bitwise Asset Management, where she oversees relationship management across Bitwise’s growing client base. In her role, Carlie works closely with Bitwise Regional Directors and Regional Consultants to assist advisors in navigating and understanding the evolving opportunities in crypto. Before Bitwise, Carlie spent more than a decade in a variety of senior sales roles at Natixis, one of the world’s largest asset managers. There, she managed the firm’s sales channels, spanning independent RIAs, wirehouses, and institutions, with a focus on people management and strategy. Carlie holds a B.A. in Physics and Philosophy from Colby College and an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, golfing, and crossword puzzles.
